Linux Mint is driven by community, based-on Debian Linux derivative. It comes in 3 different desktop flavors (Cinnamon, MATE or Xfce). We are going to install Linux Mint 19.3 code name “Tricia” with Cinnamon desktop which was released on December 18, 2019 and same steps can be followed to install MATE and Xfce desktop. Cinnamon is the default desktop and is the most popular edition and primarily developed for and by Linux Mint.

Step 1: Download Linux Mint Cinnamon .

Step 1: Download Linux Mint Cinnamon .
Verify downloaded ISO image, this is to make sure that correct ISO file downloaded.
Step 2:Create bootable DVD/USB media
Step 3: Boot with Live ISO bootable media.
Step 4: Linux Mint Live Desktop, Click on Install Linux Mint to install in Hard Drive.
Step 5: In the Welcome screen, select Language of your choice and click “Continue“.
Step 6: Select Keyboard Layout our your choice.
Step 7: Preparing to Install Linux Mint.
Step 8: Select Installation type, Here we are going to select “Something else” to perform manual partitioning. You may opt “Erase disk and install Linux Mint” for auto partitioning.
Step 9: Installation type – Create a new empty partition table clicking on “New Partition Table“.
Step 10: Verify partition created, you may revert in case of any changes.
Step 11: Click “continue” to write the changes to disks.
Step 12: Select Location and click on “Continue“
Step 13: Set user account and password to login after installation in system.
Step 14: Installation started.
Step 15: Wait until installation is complete. and reboot after removing bootable media (DVD/USB) and Click “Reboot Now“.
Step 16: Login with the user and password created during installation.
Step 17: Installation complete.
